Search for diver
PA Auckland Royal New Zealand Navy divers searched unsuccessfully off Orarapa Island in the Hauraki Gulf yesterday for a diver missing since Sunday, afternoon. Ernest Berg, aged 31, of. Blockhouse Bay, dived about 1.45 p.m. with about 45 minutes of air in his tanks. He was diving in shallow, rocky water for crayfish.
The police, the Coastguard, and private searchers in the area on Sunday failed to locate Mr Berg.. Yesterday Navy.divers assisted by the police launch Deodar were similarly unsuccessful. A decision will be made this morning whether the search will be continued.
