Candidates should have high academic qualifications in medicine and adequate experience of teaching and research. They will be ex-1 pected to undertake patient care and will be Honorary Consultant Physicians at the Port Moresby General Hospital. SALARY: LECTURER GRADE I: K 11.875 per annum plus gratuity. LECTURER GRADE II: K 13.725 per annum plus gratuity. SENIOR LECTURER: K 15.575 per annum plus gratuity. An additional clinical allowance of K2OOO may be paid. Preference will be given, to candidates with competence to analyse.the strategic' problems of China. Some competence in Chines© language is desirable. It possesses a 14UD pelletron tandem accelerator (max. usable terminal voltage currently 14.3 MV, second stripper option). There are excellent supporting facilities including an Enge split-pole spectograph equipped with an advanced focal-plane- detector. Current nuclear research interests are principally in areas of heavy-ion physics: nuclear phenomena at very high angular momenta, static and dynamic electromagnetic moments, heavy-ion transfer reactions and nuclei far from the stability line.
