Race walker overlooked?
Sir, — I would protest about the seemingly unfair overlooking of New Zealand’s leading race walker, Graham Seatter, for the forthcoming Pan-Am South Pacific TV international track and field series. Graham Seatter is the leading exponent of this art in New Zealand, an extremely difficult athletic exercise indeed, and it would seem that he is being left out — which of course means no financial help to go and take part in this international series. When such an athlete, who beat a leading .British race walker last year, . does not get encouragement from some source, private or public, he is 'bound to .feel bitterly disappointed that noone really bothers whether he represents his country or not. — Yours, etc., DONALD CAMERON. December 29, 1979.
