‘Violent’ reaction to first-aid
NZPA S'dne\ A policeman giving cardiac massage and artificial respiration to a woman in a police van was attacked and pulled away, a court was told. A New Zealand man. aged 24. appeared" in custody charged with assaulting the police and hindering them in then duty The police prosecutor. Sergeant Dates Cluti. said the incident happened when a man via- arnsted alter allegedly being involved in a hit-and-run accident on Tuesday evening. Before the Central Court was David Ramsay Foreman, a computer programmer, on hiilidat in Australia Foreman is also charged with driving with an exegssive blood-alcohol concentration and failing to stop after an accident.

He said two constables had to take the woman to hospital in the police van Foreman Hied to pull ore constable away and became "extremely violent" as th* constable was giving mouth to-mouth resuscitation. *a Sergeant Cluff. Mr .1 Doyle. S.M.. declined to grant hail and adjourned the case to Manly Court on January 2 No plea was entered.
