Bikies gather
Motor-cycle gangs from throughout New Zealand are converging on Christchurch for a New Year “convention.” A special operations room at the Christchurch Central Police Station will keep track of the gangs’ activities, and organise police "shadow” patrols. The Epitaph Riders will play host to the visiting gangs at their Lincoln Road headquarters, according to the police. Four of the seven or eight gangs which are expected to attend had arrived in Christchurch by’ last evening.
