Dead couple named
NZPA Sydney The Sydney police have identified a couple found shot dead in the bedroom of a western suburbs flat on Monday evening as a New Zealand woman, originally' from Whenuapai, and her estranged husband. They named the two as Mere-Ira Segavcic, aged 26; and her Yugoslav husband Ivan Segavcic. aged 35. The police said the couple had been separated for a week. Detectives said Mrs Segavcic, her husband, and her sister had agreed to meet in Sydney on Monday. The three went to Bondi at 9 p.m. and then to Merrylands, where they arrived about 11 p.m., and ate together in the dining room of a flat in Elsinore Street. After the meal, Mr: Segavcic followed his wife; into h bedroom, where they ; talked for some time. The! sister told the police she! heard a scream and then a shot. She said she went to the' bedroom, where she saw her; sister lying on the floor and the man standing with a rifle! in his hand. The man told her to leave the room. When she returned to the! dining room, she heard an- ’ other shot. She later found the man on the floor near' her sister. i
