Files under hedge
Secret files and cassette tapes from the British Ministry of Defence have been found under a hedge at a former country rectory. The Ministry has launched an investigation into how the material — documents in folders and four cassette tapes — was found under a hedge at Polstead rectory, near Ipswich in eastern England. The “Daily Mail” said the documents contained highly sensitive material on nuclear projects, union activists, and individuals’ sex lives. A Defence Ministry spokesman played down the incident saying: “There were some files found at this rectory, but as far as we’re concerned they are of very low classification.”— London.
