Shoe deal extended

PA Wellington The Minister of Trade and Industry (Mr Adams-Schnei-der) said yesterday that the New Zealand-Australia Free Trade Agreement footwear arrangement had been extended for another year from July 1, 1980, to June 30 1981. This will enable 50,000 pairs of adult-size footwear of Australian origin to be imported at 15 per cent duty during the 1980-81 import licensing year, in return for exports to Australia of 150,000 pairs of New Zealand make.

Each country can also sell to the other footwear above these levels within the normal import-licensing regimes in both countries.

Details concerning the arrangement will be published in the Trade and Industry Import Licensing Bulletin about March or April
