Pine disease spreads south

PA Dunedin The tree disease dothistroma pini, which can affect the growth rate of pine trees, has been identified for the first time in Otago and Southland, at Pebbly Hills, in the Hokonui State forest. Mr J. R. Purey-Cust, of the Southland conservancy of the Forest Service, said the discovery of the disease was “just an administrative nuisance” at this stage.
