Medical team leaves

PA Wellington A New Zealand medical team left Wellington yesterday for Thailand to" help Kampuchean refugees. The team of one doctor and four nurses will have their wages, equipment, and air fares paid by the Red Cross. All the team members are from Wellington, except for one nurse, Patricia Mcllroy, who is from Christchurch. They are aged between 28 and 33.

Yesterday saw the final briefing session in the Wellington Red Cross headquarters. The team was anxious to get going. “The waiting is the tough bit- you think about it all the time but you do not really know what to expect,” said another nurse, Sue Holloway. “You just never know whether you’re going to be able to stand up to what you, will find over ther. You’ve goti to trust you will.”
