As well as being a social planner and reformer, he was also the central target of the police raid in 1916 which led to the longest trial in New Zealand’s history. On the Concert radio programme Peter Webster, author of the book “Rua and the Maori Millenium,” discusses this unusual character with Elizabeth Alley.
