Govt group to visit Christchurch
Parliamentary reporter Members of the Government caucus committees on agriculture and national development will visit 1 Christchurch on Monday. The party. led by Dr 1. stitute has worked on developing cereal grain and baking technology. In the afternoon the party will investigate ethanol research at Lincoln College, and the wool research organisation at Lincoln. Ethanol research at Lincoln has recently been given 5150,000 from the Liquid Fuels Trust Board. The farm management group at the college is studying the economic and management aspects of beet production for ethanol manufacture. New Zealand should be producing ethanol as a commercial transport fuel by 1982.
