Extra parade
Kaiapoi will have an extra parade this Saturday, but residents will need to be out early to see it.
As part of its centenary celebrations of the Relief Society, a women’s organisation of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will hold a parade
that will leave Tuahiwi at 7.30 a.m. and proceed via Smith and Williams Streets through Kaiapoi, to Belfast, Papanui Road and along Fendalton Road to the church’s chapel. A woman on horseback will lead the parade which will include covered waggons, vintage cars and trucks, a band and hand-
