League appointment
Sonny Rolles ton, a former representative centre, has been appointed coach of the Eastern Suburbs-Hertz team which will defend the Canterbury rugby league club championship next season.
He replaces Grant Findlay, ; who announced after Eass tern had beaten Maristi Western Suburbs in the 1979 ! grand final that he wished !to relinquish the coaching ■ duties and continue only in a playing capacity.
