Rain-ruined cricket test

NZPA-Reuter Bangalore The rain-ruined first cricket test between India and Pakistan ended in a draw at Bangalore on Monday. At the end of the fifth and final day’s play, Pakistan, which declared its first innings at 431 for nine, was 108 for two. India was all out for 416 in the first innings. More than 275 minute of play was lost on Sunday because of rain, leaving little time for a decision in the match.

Monday’s play was a mere formality. The Indian captain, Sunil Gavaskar, under whom India has never lost, said that the six tests against Pakistan would be a high-scoring j series with both teams finding it difficult to get the other side out.
