SWSI6,OOO Second year, SWS 17.000 Third year, SWSIB,OOO ALLOWANCES: Expatriate Allowance (payable to a Married Officer), SWS7SO p.a. Expatriate Allowance (payable to a Single Officer), SWS3OO p.a. Child Allowance for each dependent child resident in Western Samoa, SWS2OO p.a. Deferred Inducement Allowance, SWS2OO p.a. The above allowances are taxable in Western Samoa. FURLOUGH: Will be granted in respect of Actual service in Western Samoa and is one (1) consecutive day for each 12 days of service. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To Act as Registrar of Nurses. 2. To co-ordinate the Nursing Sendees under the Health Department and the Health Services Board, tender advice and recommendations in respect of matters concerned with Nursing Administration within the Health Services. In this connection, the Assistant Director (Nursing) is required to act in an advisory as well as supervisory capacity to the Matrons of both the National Hospital and the District Nursing Services 3. To develop systems of nursing education, both basic and post-basic leading to suitable qualiIcations appropriate to the needs of Western Samoa. 4. To ensure that up-to-date records of approved establishments for nursing staff are maintained and that correct procedures are followed in the allocation of transfers and rosterings of nursing staff. Also to assess and advise on nursing manpower needs, and to maintain approved levels of nursing within the Health Services. 5. To attend, as and when required, meetings of the Health Services Board and of its committees. 6. To submit reports on such matters concerning nursing which warrant consideration by the Department and/or the Health Services Board. 7. To train a counterpart employee for appointment as Assistant Director (Nursing) at the end of the 3-year term. 8. To. in the scope of her authority, do anything necessary to improve standards of nursing education and nursing services in Western Samoa. QUALIFICATIONS: Qualified Registered Nurse with Diploma or Degree and with experience in nursing education and service. GENERAL: A soft furnishings allowance of SWSSO will be paid in respect of approved items. A boarding allowance of SWSBOO p.a. will be paid for each dependent child in country of recruitment. Storage charges will be paid in country of recruitment up to $l5 per week. Furnished accommodation (heavy) will be provided at a rental of SWSI2O to SWSI6O per month. Freight will be paid on household and personal effects sent by sea up to 1.7 cubic metres for a single officer, and 5 cubic metres and -6 cubic metres for each dependent child for a married officer.
