Stepping lively

I don't particularly like exercise, and my "lungs seize if I fail to buy a packet of cigarettes religiously every morning. The thought of walking down to the neighbourhood shop fen- a pint of milk fills me with dread and I don’t own a pair of sandshoes. 1 therefore tee I perfectly justified in recommending to other sloths a new book extolling the virtues of jogging. Written by a retired Christchurch pharmacist and former veteran athletics champion, Charles Ell, and- published by the Auckland firm, Bush Press, the book — "Just Jogging — for basic fitness and good health” — is a lively, brightly-writ-ten and informative paperback. According to the author, "jogging is not only for athletic types” and Mr Ell provides a run-down on the beneficial effects of 20 minutes jogging every other day. The sections — entitlad Jogging and Health, Just Jogging, Jogging in Practice and Special Aspects — are followed by a special Jogging Diary, in which the reader may fill in a chart designed to show his improvement. “Just Jogging” will gp on sale in Christchurch this week. The retail cost, is $3.50. — M.D.O.
