Rosewall beaten
PA Auckland Australia’s former tennis ace, Tony Roche, beat his veteran compatriot, Ken Rosewall, on Sunday for only the second time on their exhibition tour of New Zealand. Before 2000 spectators jammed into Stanley Street courts, the 35-year-old Roche took the jit.ot set, u-2, trom Kosewall, lost • the second, 4-6, and finally took the third in a 10-8 tiebreaker. | Roche also made short work of ! Hutt Valley junior, James ! Dunphy, 6-1. ! However, national under-19 i champion, Aucklander Bruce Derlin, gave the 45-year-old Rosewall a lot more trouble, before the Australian came out 1 on top, 7-6, in their one-set game.
