Labour Party paper
Sir, —- I read with amazement J. Lowe’s claim (November 22) that the Labour Party is using official postage, or in other words taxpayers’ money to distribute its propaganda. Even more disturbing was that the Labour Party in its answer not only admitted this claim but condoned the action. It would appear that Mr Moore’s private bill seeking taxpayers’ money to finance political campaigning is an attempt to ratify what his party is already doing. I object to having a portion of our taxes used to fund any of the political parties’ activities. The excuse used by the Labour Party would appear very thin and, even if it is legal, it certainly is not very ethical. — Yours, etc.,
C. M. McNICHOLL. November 22, 1979.
