High post for Air Force man
Group Captain S. 'Mclntyre, of Wellington, (Commander of the Royal New Zealand Air Force’s support group at Wigram has been appointed Assistant Chief of Defence Staff (Support) at Defence Headquarters. Group Captain Mclntyre, who will be promoted to Air Commodore when he takes up the appointment early next month, joined the R.N.Z.A.F. in 1949 and trained as a pilot. After a course in Britain in 1969 Group Captain Mclntyre was appointed Director of Air Staff Policy and Plans. He took command of the R.N.Z.A.F. base at Ohakea in 1973. He later attended the Royal College of Defence Studies in Britain.
