Adult learner books given
t The Christchurch Altrusa I club has given the Canterbury Public Library books valued at $l3OO to support adult reading assistance schemes in Christchurch. The books will be put in the Books for Adult New Readers section, which the library established two years ago. Altrusa convened a committee of the groups working with adults suffering from reading difficulties three months ago. This committee selected the books suitable for adults learning to read. Mrs Julien Jensen, president of the Christchurch Altrusa Club, will begin giving the books to the City Librarian (Mr J. E. D. Stringleman) on November 29.
