Archers win gold stars
Five archers won gold stars in the national F.LT.A. Gold Star archery tournament, at the week-end at! Burwood Park. The highlight of the competition was the effort of the national paraplegic representative, Neroli Fairhall, | who became the first woman; to gain a 1200 gold star,! with a score of 1213. Im doing so she qualified forj the Olympic Games trials, and won selection in the New Zealand team to compete in the Netherlands at
the paraplegic games next year. Miss Fairhall beat the | world paraplegic women’s record with her single score of 1213 and also her double score of 2394. Others to win gold stars were Ann Shurrock (Ashburton), who won an 1100 star with a score of 1171, Roy Barrett (Ashburton), with 1105, Robin Bliss (Christchurch) won a 1000 star with 1039 and Dave Hen- 1 shaw (Christchurch) scored 1014 for a 1000 star.
