Kaiser retired
NZPA Sydney The New Zealand Derby winner, Kaiser, has broken down and will be retired to stud. The four-year-old Ruling entire ruptured a suspensory ligament when racing at Rosehill, Sydney, last Saturday and his trainer, Dr Geoff Chapman, said there' seemed no point in contin-: uing with his racing career. . Negotiations are taking place for Kaiser to stand at a New South Wales stud. Kaiser won five races in New Zealand, including the New Zealand Derby at Ellerslie last Boxing Day. He travelled to Australia early this year, but was unplaced in six starts in Sydney. He is out of the Sovereign Edition mare. Sovereign ‘Lass.
