PA Wellington The Recording Industry Association named Rob Guest: as New Zealand’s top male vocalist for 1979 at a re-i cord-awards ceremony in Auckland last evening. Sharon O’Neill won the: award for the top female voc-| alist. The top single of the year was “Be Mine Tonight’” by Th’ Dudes, who also won! the prize for top group. The winner of this year’s South Pacific Song contest,: Tina Cross, won the award' for most promising female vocalist. Other winners: L.P. of the year, “Street Talk”, by Street Talk; most promising group, Street Talk; most promising male vocalist, Jon Stevens; producer of the year, Steve Robinson for “Words.”
