Short story contest

I The South Island I Writers’ Association is organising a short story competition to be held in conjunction with the Christchurch Arts Festival in. March, 1980. The winning author will receive a prize of $lOO and the second-placed story, $5O. Entries will close on December 15, will be judged by Mr J. Acheson, of the English department at the University of Canterbury. Stories must be of no

more than 2500 words, and an entry, fee of Si must accompany all entries. If of a suitable standard, the winning stories ■will be published in “Landfall.” The prizes will be presented on March 14. Entry forms may be obtained by writing, enclosing a stamped, selfaddressed envelope, to Short Story, care of the South Island Writers’ Association, P.O. Box 1270, Christchurch.
