City to city
John Ashwell, the drummer for the Christchurch rock group, Steamshack, can be forgiven if he is still dreaming about endless bouts of driving and flying. The lad has just spent the last week commuting between Christchurch and Dunedin each day. Steamshack were booked for a week at the Captain Cook Tavern, in Dunedin, from October 22 tq October 27, but Ash-
well, an apprentice fitter and turner, had to be back at his job in Christchurch each day during the week. According to the group's bassist, Nigel Carpenter, the other four members in the band took it in turns to drive Ashwell back to Christchurch in the group’s van after each night when the band had finished playing. Ashworth flew back to Dunedin each afternoon.
