Special correspondent Insercargtll Sapling, last season’s Pacer of the Year, certainly did his prospects for next Tuesday's New Zealand uup no harm when he recorded an outstanding effort in the Woolbuyers Cup Trial, a feature non-totahsator race at the Invercargill Trotting Club's spring meeting yesterday. Racing against Trust' Scot. Majestic Charger. Trevira. Fallimento and Good Too in the 2600 m contest. Sapling led over the last 1700 m to score bv a length and a ha f from Trusty Scot in 3min 22.45. a mile rate of 2min 5.2 s on the 1000 m. circuit. Atmospheric and overhead 1 conditions were good Sapling was privately timed, post to post, to run his last 2400 m in 3min 03s the last mile in 2min 3.15. the ■ final 800 m in 58.9 s and the closing 400 m in 28.2 s t "The track was perfect and
