Mr Taiboys to attend Park funeral
PA Wellington The Deputy Prime Minister (Mr Taiboys) will interrupt his tour of South-East Asia to attend the funeral of President Park of Korea on Saturday. The Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon) said yesterday: ‘ The Government was shocked to learn of President Park's violent death. "He made an important contribution to the develop-
ment of relations between New Zealand and the Republic of Korea and these relations have become very important to us.” Mr Muldoon said the Korean people had been through many severe tests and had won the admiration of New Zealanders by their courage and determination. “We want to show our sympathy and support for them in their latest trial,” he said.
