Electronics exhibition

An exhibition of electronic equipment is here at the Christchurch Town Hall this week as part of the ninth annual Australasian conference of the Television Services Association Inc. at present being held in Christchurch.

Over 100 delegates have come from Australia and throughout New Zealand to attend the conference which meets every year, either in Australia or New Zealand, to keep abreast with the current worldwide trends in modem technology, in the manufacture and servicing of electronic equipment.

There are over 14 exhibitors, all leading New Zealand manufacturers, attending the exhibition, which is being held in the Limes Room of the Christ-

church Town Hall. Displays include televisions. radio and stereos, video, electronic and tech-

nical test equipment, aerials, sound and vision products, television and audio components, electronic home organs, watches and clocks. Representatives are on hand to give any additional information on the products

displayed. Apart from the interesting and varied selection of equipment, a demonstration of Teletext should prove poular. Teletext is an electronic device which can be attached to a television set permitting a selected choice of up to 200 pages of news matter. The de-

vice is already transmitting extensively in Europe and England and is expected to arrive for sale in New Zealand in the near future.

The exhibition, which was officially opened on Monday by the Mayor of

Christchurch (Mr Hamish Hay), will continue until Saturday November 3. The showroom will be

open to the public from J la.m. to 6p.m. Monday to Friday and from 9a.m, to middav on Saturday.
