Rumanian leader may visit N.Z.
NZPA Bucharest President Nicolae Ceausescu. Rumania's all-pow-erful Head of State, hopes to visit New Zealand next year. Visiting political figures, such as the Prime Minister (Mr Muldoon), normally issue reciprocal invitations; the invitation to
President Ceausescu was first made by Mr Muldoon’s predecessor, Mr Rowling, four years ago. Mr Muldoon yesterday renewed the invitation when he met the president for an hour. “He is keen to go and hopes to make the trip about this time next year,” Mr Muldoon said.
Mr Muldoon’s talks with President Ceausescu ranged from Zimbabwe Rhodesia to the Middle East and other international questions, but sheep occupied much of their time. Intermittent shipments had been made over the last few years, but Mr Muldoon said that the
