Cuff sets cycling record

j True to his pre-race billing as one of the warmest favourites for the Rothmans cycling tour of Southland. Anthony Cuff of Palmerston North last evening set a record. In winning the 4km time trial, Cuff also clipped a second off the race record.

lians, Gary Fromhold, did 5:49, and a couple o'f the best from the North Island, Vern Hanaray and John Dykman, were both a second slower. Then came the third of the leading Canterbury Icontenders, Chris Hogan ;with 5:51, Bob Hines of Australia did 5:53, and Roger Sumich (Auckland) did 5:56.
