)NZPA-Reuter Cologne: ) New Zealand was interested in co-operating with: West Germany, the president! i of the New Zealand Manu- ■ ifacturers’ Federation (Mr : Fred Turnovsky) has said at la meeting with West Ger-1 man industrial representatives in Cologne. ! The Federation of West I German Industries (8.D.1.) said Mr Turnovsky made the point at the start of an eight-day visit he is making with 19 New Zealand businessmen. The B.D.T. invited the Newi Zealand businessmen to (come to West Germany after} |a German business delega-l tion visited New Zealand! last March on a fact-finding Imission. i Mr Turnovsky said New Zealand, traditionally an agricultural country, was interested in working with West German firms to restructure its economy toj meet changing world mar-} kets. The New Zealand-Govern-1 ment was supporting efforts; ■to attract foreign businesses I by liberalising its foreign investment policies and by other measures, he said. The delegation, accompanied by the deputy-secre-tary for Trade and Industry (Mr Geoffrey Datson) had meetings on Tuesday with officials in the Foreign, Development Aid and Science Ministries. The delegates left for Hamburg yesterday for a three-day visit, during which they will have individual meetings with representatives of West German firms. They will end their German trip with a similar visit in Munich. From there they will go on to Zurich, Switzerland.
