Tennis treat for top juniors

Two top tennis juniors have been chosen to accompany the famed Australians, Ken Rosewall and Tony Roche. on their barnstorming tour of New Zealand next month. Bruce Deriin (Auckland) and James Dunphy (Hutt Valley) are the fortunate young men who are bound to benefit from the rare experience of playing with and against the world class visitors on this intensive Skellerup all star tennis promotion.

between contestants yet to oe announced will also be on the programme. The Canterbury Junior LTA will choose a group of promising youngsters for the coaching clinic. The idea of making the tour came from Roche when he was in Christchurch for the Davis Cup eastern zone final earlier this year. The format follows one which Rosewall and Roche have developed and which has nroved successful in Austra,ian states. At 44 years of age thi
dapper Rosewall remains m excellent physical shape, and is still capable of beating the best in the world. Roche has been one of the strengths of Australian Davis Cup play in recent years, and his pugnacious approach, especially when in a tight corner, is widely rec-; ognised. Nelson. Rotorua, Dune-1 din, Auckland, and a i Hawke’s Bay centre are also! on the itinerary, and in some venues the matches' will be played indoors, at ’ night. _ I
