Prison officer for trial
A prison officer charged with assault and with wounding elected trial by jury, when he appeared before Mr P. J. McAloon, S.M., in the Magistrate’s Court yesterday. Wayne Douglas Adamson, aged 24, was remanded on bail of $lOOO to November 6 for the taking of depositions. Adamson is alleged to have assaulted Kevin Cameron, and that with intent to injure he wounded Duane Selwyn Laws, and Kenneth Steven Taylor. The alleged three offences were said to have taken place on September 7. THEFT ALLEGED A driver, aged 28, charged with stealing $9900, the property of the Bank of New Zealand, denied the charge.
Stephen Charles Goddard, who is said to have committed the alleged offence on September 3, was remanded on bail to November 27 for a defended hearing. BURGLARY CHARGES Graham Michael Nolan, aged 22, a factory supervisor, was remanded without plea to October 5 on five charges of burglary. Nolan is alleged to have burgled the premises of Canberra Crafts, on two occasions, Cottage Crafts, Avenue Florists, and the premises of D. A. Horwell. The alleged offences were said to have taken place between Mav 18 and September 23. Bail was set at $l5OO.
