Agean Sea has chance at Washdyke today

A win fresh up should be within the powers of Aegean Sea in the Ted Falvey Memorial, first leg of the South Canterbury Jockey Club’s T.A.B. double at Washdyke today. She is a stablemate and jcontemporary of Little ! Brown Jug, winner of the (John Grigg Stakes on Saturday, and was one of the more promising of Canterbury’s two-year-old fillies last autumn, when she won once, and was placed in her other five starts. If there is to be a stumbling block for Aegean Sea in today’s 1200 m race, it will most likely be Lady Creosote, a speedster racing on her home course. Lady Creosote is also coming back after a spell, but has done well in the past on a programme of widelyspaced races. Frontiniac, a dashing winner at Oamaru on August 20, should take beating in the Somerville Handicap, second leg of the T.A.B. double.
The third Twizel Maiden, first leg of the T.A.B. treble, appears to offer Regalo a bright winning opportunity to
■star in the colours of Bevan Wilson, the AU Black fuili back. The combined efforts of ■Royal Kassel and Sweeney ;Todd should fill the vital gap for the second leg, the President’s Handicap, and Dalcree. a stablemate of Lady Creosote, has appealing form for the third leg, the Murphy Maiden.
