Hatch Cup hockey
PA Napier Canterbury gave an early indivation that it is still a dominant hockey force when the Hatch Cup national primary schoolboys’ tournament started at Napier yesterday. It beat Tauranga, 194), and also collected points through a default by Otago, which, with South Canterbury, was delayed by closed airports in the South Island. Results included:— Section A—Hawke’s Bay 2, Ashburton 2; Auckland 4, Ashburton 0; Hamilton 1, Marlborough 1. Section B —Taranaki 4, West Coast 0: Nelson 10, Central Hawke's Bay 1: Wanganui 1, Nelson 1: Central Hawke’* Bay 2, West Coast 1. Section C.—Canterbury beat Otago by default; Poverty Bay beat South Canterbury by de-
fault; Canterbury IS, Taurang 0; Northland beat South Cante bury by default.
