Anthem at rugby match

Sir, — I was considerably disturbed by Raymund Patrick Keenahan’s letter (August 23) in which he bewailed the playing of “God Save the Queen" at Lancaster Park last Saturday. It appears that many people do not recognise that New Zea- - f

land is a monarchy in its c.m right and that, therefore, our National Anthem, “God Save the Queen,” should be recognised as a fitting tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11, a most gracious lady. — Yours, etc.,

D. J. RAE. August 23, 1979.
