New series with Frank Spencer
Frank Spencer (above) is back, blundering through life in a brand new series of “Some Mothers Do ’Ave ’Em” on TVI on Mondays. In the opening episode Frank accidentally renders his home uninhabitable. Michele Dotrice has returned to play Betty again; and also in the cast are Glynn Edwards, Derek Farr, Fredrick Jaeger, and Dick Bentley as Frank’s grandfather.
The new series sees a slight, change in Frank. “He still has the innocence of a child,” says Michael Crawford, “but in spite of his essential unworldliness, he is fighting back more and being just a tiny bit mare aggressive.” This new series, the first for five years, went straight to the top of the British “Top Ten” television programmes with audiences of about 18M.
