heed end beware of covetousness, for a man's life consists not in the abundance of the things which he poesesses.” (Luke 12:15). The basic, fundamental needs of the human heart are not satisfied with money or with the things that money can buy. They are not satisfied with mere health, popularity and ability. Materialism neglects the spiritual nature of man and is therefore an unsatisfactory and unsatisfying way of life. God is a Spirit. Man, made in God's image, is a spiritual being. The basic needs of the human heart are spiritual. They can be satisfied only by God and His truth.
