Speedway to England

NZPA London England's all-round strength proved too much for Australasia in the fourth speedway test at Cradley Heath, London, The home side had a runaway win, 72-36. Peter Collins, the English skipper, was in devastating form with 17 points from six rides. His younger brother, Phil, making his international debut, collected 11. Dave Jessop, of King’s Lynn, was also in fine form, and dropped only two points in his six rides. Australasia was sadly out of its depth, and did not win a race until heat 13, when Larry Ross, of Christchurch, collected his only win of the night.
