Stars absent at Montreal
NZPA Montreal The second World Athletics Cup will be held at the Montreal Olympic stadium over the week-end, minus the glittering talents of Sebastian Coe, Steve Ovett, Alberto Juantorena, and Henry Rono. Some say that the event has been diluted, but nine reigning Olympic champions and 14 world record holders will compete.
Australia and New Zet land will compete as tl< composite Oceania team. Mike O’Rourke, of Auck land, is recovering from ; stress fracture in his back but could surprise in tfy men’s javelin, while th| Commonwealth hammer throwing gold medallist Peter Farmer, of Sydney, i hoping to emulate his thirl at the Dusseldorf Work Cup.
