Greymouth reporter West Coast drivers joined the strike from midnight yesterday. Members of the Westland Drivers’ Union met in Greymouth, Reefton, and Westport and decided to strike until Sunday night, with exemptions for bus and oil industry drivers. The field ’■epresentative of the union, Mr L. Bums, said some members of the Road Carriers’ Association on the West Coast with whom the union had spoken seemed prepared to discuss a local agreement

and talks could be held today or tomorrow. In Dunedin the OtagoSouthland Employers’ Association and the OtagoSouthland Manufacturers’ Association said storemen and packers could soon find themselves without work as the effects of the bans spread to nine transport companies, reports the Press Association. In Auckland about 20 companies were subjected to drivers’ restrictions of one form or another yesterday.
