Fatal fire out
A forest fire that killed two firemen on the French Riviera was put out on Tuesday as winds died down after three days. Hundreds of firemen stood by at the forest near the fishing port of Cassis, 20km east of Marseilles, in case the strong Mistral wind from the north blew up again. The two firemen, aged 21 and 23, were fcund dead in the blackened forest after a week-end in which nearly 3000 hectares of forest and scrubland around Marseilles was razed. — Marseilles.
