A sample offering from the collection of cartoons, “Jim Field’s George,” which has just been published (Whitcoulls, 1979, 64 pp., $1.95). The cartoons, which first appeared in the N.Z. “Listener,” oner a diverting rang of comments on contemporary domestic life and social habits. “George” has been appearing in the “Listener” tor 15 years. His creator, Jim Field, has had a much more varied existence, including display work in retail stores, 10 years in the Army, and has been a policeman for the last six years. At present he is a dog handler, based in Palmerston North.
