Museum lessons
Almost 17,000 children attended organised lessons at the Canterbury Museum during the second school term. Class numbers had increased over recent years but the average class size had fallen, said Mr J. H. Johnson, the museum’s education officer, at a
meeting of the museum trustees on August 16. The real barometer of the museum’s work was the num- , ber of classes. The interest shown in the classes was very satisfying, because transport, display costs, and restrictions on heating fuel were causing difficulties, Mr ( Johnson said.
