Ultimate to gain deserved win?
Special Correspondent Dunedin Ultimate could break through for a deserved win in the Fairfield Handicap, first leg of the Oamaru Jockey Club’s T.A.B. double on Monday. He has been placed in four of his six starts after a spell, the most recent at Washdyke on July 21, when he ran Lady Belinda to half a length over distance, 1600 m jan' a soft track. Anoth&r''of his placings wqs ailose second to Napiat over 1600 m at Oamaru in May. He was a strong-finishing fourth over the same distance on the course in June in the race won by Sir James from Charlson and Arrojado. Sir James won easily that day and it is hard to go past him again with o.skg less
weight. He has not per-! formed that badly in four' starts since his win, his best; effort being a third to Lady Belinda and Dandyman at Washdyke. Hasuka has found the class too rich at the Grand National meeting but he could measure up on Monday.
