Battle less intense
The Ansett and Ampol battle quietened on Australian sharemarkets yesterday. Over-all market activity was lower but prices firmed in
I most sectors. Ampol opened 10c lower . at 80c, rose to a high for ; the day of 85c, then eased to i close at 83c.
Ansett shares traded at a steady 155 c but yesterday Ampol announced that it had acquired the 20 per cent stake it was after.
