Crowe favoured to win rallycross
The aggressive Christchurch driver, Trevor Crowe, should have little trouble winning the 3ZM rallycross at Ruapuna tomorrow. Crowe has competed in several rallycrosses this season at Mystery Creek, near Hamilton, in his powerful Avenger V 8 and this, coupled with his vast circuit racing experience, should make him the favourite. Other definite starters for tomorrow's event include John Sergei (Christchurch Escort RSIBOOI, the winner of last week-end’s Sedley Wells 3ZM rally, Warren Burt iTimaru, CorolU), Rod Me-
Elrea (Ashburton. Mazda RX3i, and Kelvin Cameron (Christchurch, Mazda RX3>. The fastest two drivers will be offered assistance to compete in the national final at Mystery Creek, joining Leo Leonard <T,maru) as the Canterbury area representatives. The Ruapuna trade is likely to be muddy on the shingle sec tions but has been improved since the last rallycross. A main straight chicane will slow down the more powerful cars. Several races for moto-cross bikes will also be igd.
