NORTH CANTERBURY CATCHMENT BOARD AND REGIONAL WATER BOARD LYTTELTON' BOROUGH AND PORT HILLS AREA NOTICES NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN pursuant to Section 34 of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Amendment Act 1959 to owners and occupiers of land, and their contractors, within the Borough of Lyttelton. the North Canterbury Catchment Board declares that, in respect of any land within the Borough of Lyttelton, the disturbance of land surfaces by the removal of soil or bv excavation or filling is a practice likely to facilitate erosion or floods or cause deposits in water courses. The Board declares that no person shall engage in the foregoing practice within the Borough of Lyttelton without the prior written consent of the Board. Unless revoked this notice will remain in force for two years from August 11, 1979. Penalties are provided for in the Act for any contravention of this notice. This notice is issued by direction of the Soil Conservation and Rivers Control Council and confirmed by the Minister of Works and Envelopment. The public notice given on January 31, 1978 containing similar declarations in respect of certain areas of the Port Hills, remains in force. The lands affected by that notice are delineated on Plans M 422 and M422/1 available for inspection during office hours at the offices of the North Canterbury Catchment Board, Christchurch City Council, Paparua County Council, Heathcote County Council and the Christchurch Drainage Board.
