‘Visits save $256,000’
PA Wellington Savings of $256,000 have been achieved as the result of overseas visits by officials of the State Services Commission, the Minister of State Services (Mr Thomson) told Parliament yesterday, Mr Thomson, who did not give details of the savings, was answering a question by a Government back-bencher, |Mr P. C. East (Rotorua) who 'asked why it was necessary •for six persons from the State Services Commission |to travel overseas at a cost of $41,670 to inspect posts jin Australia and Europe. : Mr Tomson said four : persons were involved in the | Australian inspection and ; five in inspecting European i posts.
